Maylis De Lacoste Lareymondie worked in the finance industry for several years.
She then decided to start her own company, "Lareymondie", beautiful boots, stilettos and loafers made with love and craftsmanship.
Maylis' story
Maylis had been riding horses since she was four. She got her first custom boots when she turned 15, and it was love at first sight. This surprised no one, because bespoke boots were part of her heritage: she was raised to admire elegance, and the dedication that goes into the craftsmanship of couture. Even in her teen years, young Maylis could rattle off every detail about every feature—the leather, the embossing, the fit, the feel. It was in her blood.
In New York, as Maylis toiled on the trading floor, she noticed how male traders regularly got their shoes polished, right there between the desks and terminals. That’s when it clicked: none of the women shoe brands were offering bespoke, quality and craftsmanship.
Maylis launched the House of Lareymondie specifically to create bespoke boots for women—works of beauty to be measured and treasured, custom fit for one but handed down through the generations. Maylis combines hard business skills with an attention to detail and a lifelong passion. She has brought together artisans who build on centuries of tradition, education and dedication to create true masterpieces.
“For our artisans, each piece must be a masterpiece. For our customers, satisfaction only comes with passion. That’s the House of Lareymondie.”
Lareymondie Couture
Lareymondie artisans did not learn their craft overnight. They represent generations of learning.
They have depth of knowledge in the morphology of the foot and the leg, and longtime familiarity with the finest leathers in all their variants. They’ve put in years of practice honing their skills in handcrafting each piece.
This is why the House of Lareymondie has created a haute couture collection.
Lareymondie Couture represents the ultimate labor of love. They feature training handed down through generations, skills honed over years of practice and a painstaking attention to detail, all coming together to suit unique tastes and needs. This is why no two pieces of Lareymondie Couture are exactly alike—each is meticulously crafted over months to produce a work of beauty that is yours and yours alone.
Every phase of the process follows classic couture methods—no short cuts, no machine fixes, no assembly line, and absolutely no glue. It’s meticulous cutting, stitching, dyeing and polishing to create a work of beauty. This is how Lareymondie Couture shoes truly come to life.
